It was a busy weekend with the oldest home visiting, a lacrosse tournament for number 3, and hosting church group. But it was worth it. It is always good to have number 1 home, number 3 played well in spite of a shoulder injury, and I always get more out of church group than I put in. On number 3’s injury, she landed hard on her shoulder right in front of us on the sideline. I do not want to be the parent who runs onto the field because one of my kids is hurt. They have people for that, and I want my child to deal with it without mom or dad coming to the rescue. This time, I waited a bit, but jogged onto the field. Initially, I thought she may have broken her arm or dislocated her shoulder. It looked bad. I can’t say what the injury was for sure; she possibly separated it a bit, but was able to keep it loose, drink water, change her socks, and, with a little Motrin, was able to play the rest of the weekend. She’s pretty tough, and I’m always proud of her.
