It’s been a few days since I put one of these together. Just busy and out of my routine. Anyway, here are some quick X threads from the last few days. The posts are mostly about news in National Security. We do the scrolling so you don’t have to. This post also serves as an open thread. We start with a two-fer. I am not sure I could say it much better than the first X post. “China is responsible for a global-level catastrophe that is destroying natural ecosystems & biodiversity all across the world.” This is your reminder, but these two posts highlight the scale. The reach and destruction on their open water fishing fleet are truly unprecedented. The only historical reference I think we can point to is the destruction caused by widespread whaling except this is a destruction on all species. It is horrible and the entire world will pay the price.

I have no idea if this is true but there is a larger play than just Venezuela here for sure. The ripple effects of his removal would have far reaching effect way beyond the Venezuelan border. Imagine a world where people want to go to Venezuela for a job and quality of life. That is what it once was. No, the people are trying to escape the regime, and it is not only affecting the US immigration. It effects every neighboring country. Getting Venezuela close to what it was just 30 years ago is THE linchpin in Making the Americas Great Again.
While Venezuela is not mentioned in this podcast, I think it plays a role in background. I have nothing other than a feeling on this but when something doesn’t make sense and goes against everything that you or this administration is doing, there has to be a reason. So, hear me out. I think the controversial pardon of the former Honduran President is making a path for Maduro’s exit from Venezuela. The New York Times reported several weeks ago that there are backchannel discussions with the Maduro regime about his exit. I believe, with absolutely no evidence, that this is directly related. Maduro does not want to step out of power and into a prison or go to Russia. So, the administration pardons the former president of Honduras as a gesture saying we won’t jail former heads of state. I think Maduro will only step down if we allow him to come to the US, so he won’t get Kadafied for accepting a deal with the US.

I just wanted to end this on a more positive note. Small farms are our future and I believe are the key to so many issues we are facing. I am working on a deep dive on this. Hopefully, I can get it published soon.
