Lunch Box Quotes

Lunch Box Quotes

2 Corinthians 9:7 says that, “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” Most people, and I am guilty of this too, typically assign a dollar value to this verse. But that is simply not true for we give of our time, our talent, sometimes our homes, and our energy. This is especially true of our young athletes. They pour themselves out on the practice field every day, but sometimes the rewards of playing time are not immediately returned. One of the hardest things to convey is managing that disappointment or frustration but being a good teammate, being ready, requires the heart of a cheerful giver. As a backup, you don’t know when you will be called on, but when you are, the attitude of your heart can go a long way toward your performance on the field. Rudy, Rudy, Rudy…Go get ’em tonight!

As a reminder, Lunch Box Quotes are notes I include in the kids’ lunches every day. Number 1 gets a text, but 2-4 get handwritten napkins.
