Lunch Box Quotes – Summer Edition

Lunch Box Quotes – Summer Edition

The grind of the summer job is getting to Number 2. He was late for work this morning, and he clearly didn’t want to hear my opinion on the matter. I can’t say that I blame him. No one wants someone sniping at them when they already know they are wrong. When I went to bed last night, I considered setting my alarm to the time he was supposed to be up but decided not to because he stayed out later than we told him to. Responsibility is hard-earned, and I don’t believe in holding my kids’ hands…. And it was a 1:00 a.m. wake-up, which was a comfort-based decision on my part. I am not going to put myself on a pedestal and pretend my mom didn’t occasionally wake me up for school or work when I was in High School. She did. But I also wake him and the others up on occasion. So, my question to other parents out there – and I am genuinely asking- is: Should I have gotten up early to make sure he got to work on time? What would you have done?

Typically, Lunch Box Quotes are notes I include in the kids’ lunches every day. Number 1 gets a text, and 2-4 get handwritten napkins, but for the Summer Edition, we will be searching for consistency and hopefully a routine. Today, texts for 1 and 2, notes written in Sharpie on their snack bag for 3 and 4.

I probably should have gotten out of bed at 1:30.
