I woke up to the realization that the Halloween that we once knew is gone. The oldest is in college, Number 2 is going to a party, Number 3 is not going trick-or-treating, and we are writing a note so the bus can drop Number 4 off at a friend’s house. No trick-or-treating, no hay rides, no walking the neighborhood. In a blink, the life we once knew with the kids is over. We have been trick-or-treating for 19 years. We even tried to force pumpkin carving last night and only got half finished. <\/p>\n

On a slightly more positive note, you should see some site improvement because I deleted my sidebar widget that loaded headlines. I worked several days on that project…never mind.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, A couple of weeks ago, while sending 2 and 3 out the door, Number 2 asked why I haven\u2019t been writing notes to put in their lunches this year. Last year, on the days I\u2019m not traveling for work, I got up early, made the kids their lunches, and put a note in each one\u2019s lunch box. Their mom started it. She would write something sweet\u2026mom-type stuff. That is not really my thing, so I would look for cool quotes that seemed to fit the day or something they were going through. For 2, 3, and 4, it\u2019s a note on a napkin. For Number 1, it\u2019s a text.<\/p>\n
