They finished the weekend with a record of 0 wins, 4 losses, and 2 ties. But this trip was not really about wins and losses. While there were some individuals who had a very good weekend, Number 2 included (overall, I thought he played well). This team was created to prepare the boys for a deep run in the High School playoffs, and this fall season, particularly this individual tournament, was chosen to identify weaknesses the boys would need to fix prior to the Spring Season. The competition, pace of play, and physicality of our opponents were better than anything the boys have ever faced; some of the top lacrosse players in the country were there. At times, the boys rose to the challenge, but ultimately, they were unable to close out a win. There are 5 levels to commitment: Self-awareness, Willingness to change, Intense focus, Consistency, Character. Each level will be required for team success, and currently, individuals are not on the same page. For success, they will need to come together as a team and selflessly move as a single unit without pointing fingers, but with a ‘slide’ for support. Good job this weekend, but there is more work to do.

Lunch Box Quotes are notes I include in the kids’ lunches every day.
