On to the next round!! The Varsity girls kicked things off with a barn burner. Topsail led most of the way, but Holly Springs was able to battle back and tie the game with around 5 minutes left. It felt like the momentum had left the stadium. But the girl won a draw, a couple of quick scores, and the defense locked them down to secure a 17-13 victory. It was tense. The boys brought the big sticks and delivered another wooppin.’ This game was never particularly close as they secured the 21-3 victory. From here, it is on the 4th round on Friday night. Quick side note: Since the wife runs the music, I have marginal influence over what is played. Last night, we kicked off the celebration with “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown,” a throwback to my junior year in High School and the Harlan Football Championship run! It was glorious.
Typically, Lunch Box Quotes are notes I include in the kids’ lunches every day. Number 1 gets a text, and 2-4 get handwritten napkins, but with the school year wrapping up, there is very little consistency. Today, all texts…but that has more to do with me staying up until 3 a.m. with Number 1.
