The wife and I went out on Number 2’s boat in the swamp behind the house yesterday. He’s been trying to fix it for several months. Turned out to be an electrical problem in the switch. The kill-switch wire was pinched and shorting out, so the boat wouldn’t run. I gotta admit, I wasn’t much help on this one, and I am proud he kept working the problem until he found the solution. That boy knows those swamps as well as anyone I know, so we explored areas I haven’t been to. The swamp’s beauty never ceases to amaze me, either. In particular, the bald cypress trees stand with a majesty that dominates the swamps. Their battered limbs laden with moss and ferns give testament to their age. They are my favorite.
Lunch Box Quotes are notes I usually include in the kids’ lunches. Since Number 1 is off in college and Number 2 is skipping lunch now (he’s trying to cut weight for lacrosse), they both get a text. Both 3 and 4 get handwritten notes on napkins.
