One of the things that I have passed on to Number 1, at least, is the passion for baseball. Not playing, he picked up a lacrosse stick instead, but fandom, and in particular fandom of the Chicago Cubs. I really can’t explain how I can get so emotionally wrapped up in a team where it affects my mood, my sleep, and even my relationships. I don’t want to call my Brewer fan brother right now…gross. My wife thinks it’s a sickness, a beautiful sickness that is apparently contagious; a blessing, and a curse. I am continuously blessed by the game because it can provide so much joy and something Number 1 and I talk about every day. The prospects, the potential, the now. I couldn’t be more grateful for that and look forward to the calls and texts every single day. We live and die on every pitch. But sometimes, as Clint Hurdle (who you should definitely follow on X) says below, you just need to “shower well.” Rinse that day away…and coincide certain phone calls with Brewer losing streaks…
