Been a minute since I last got one of these out. We’ve been busy with home renovations and cleaning, but I will save that for tomorrow’s post. Today, it’s mainly about the girls, as we have wrapped up the Summer Season of Travel Lacrosse, cooking on the turf fields in Raleigh this weekend. Number 3 finishes with another Championship after going undefeated over her two days of games. Pretty incredible play for the girls overall; very well done, and congratulations. For Number 4, the results were mixed as they went 1-3 in the tournament. However, the results don’t matter as much as the growth as a player, and she improved a lot this year. She should be proud of her accomplishments even though there are no medals to show for it. In other news, as part of Number 4’s birthday, we moved her upstairs into Number 1’s old room. In practical terms, that means cleaning out and boxing up his stuff. We have been working on this whole project for several weeks, but it hit kinda hard yesterday. As a father, watching them move out and start their own lives is the goal, but somehow, boxing up their stuff doesn’t feel like it belongs in the same emotional bucket.
Typically, Lunch Box Quotes are notes I include in the kids’ lunches every day. Number 1 gets a text, and 2-4 get handwritten napkins, but for the Summer Edition, we will be searching for consistency and hopefully a routine. Today, all texts.

The oldest hand to sign the Declaration of Independence shook so badly the man could barely hold the pen. He signed anyway, and what he said while doing it should be carved somewhere. Here’s the story.
