Number 3 is off to California for a lacrosse camp. First time on a plane. First time away and not at a church camp….It’s only 5 days. It’s only 5 days…It’s 5 days?
Getting this one out a bit late due to dropping her off at the airport. It should be a great trip and an amazing opportunity. Going to miss her. Hopfully she sends pictures.
Day 5: Bearing Burdens and Loving One Another
Galatians 6:2 (ESV) – “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” (See also John 13:34-35 on loving one another as the mark of discipleship.)
Christ’s law of love is fulfilled when we carry one another’s heavy loads—practical, emotional, and spiritual. Authentic community moves beyond polite interaction to sacrificial care, making the gospel visible to the watching world.
Love is an attitude that reveals itself in action. By helping when it’s not convenient, by giving when it hurts, by devoting energy to others’ welfare and not our own.
Reflection/Application: Pray for insight into a burden someone near you is carrying. Take one practical step to help bear it this week, and invite others to share in yours. Use these daily readings for personal meditation, journaling, or group discussion. Begin and end each day with prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to deepen your commitment to biblical community and to help you live it out.
Prayer: Dear Lord, open my eyes to the needs of others and give me the willing spirit to choose action. Protect Number 3 on her journey. In Your name I pray. Amen.
Typically, Lunch Box Quotes are notes I include in the kids’ lunches every day. Number 1 gets a text, and 2-4 get handwritten napkins, but for the Summer Edition, there has been no routine, so today, texts for all.
